Have you or a family member been diagnosed with...
From July 2013 to July 2014 whatsmyasbestosclaimworth team members, colleagues, friends and family will be undertaking a dodecathlon. Inspired by the 12 labours of Hercules, rather than slaying beasts and stealing apples we will be completing a task, event or challenge each month. From a tree top rope course to a half marathon and a slightly less strenuous pub quiz, amongst others. The aim is to raise funds for Mesothelioma UK and Macmillan Cancer Support, as well as raising awareness of asbestos and the dangers it presents.
With a target of £5,000, any donation, large or small is greatly appreciated. You can donate online through our Virgin Money Giving site http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/whatsmyasbestosclaimworth or contact us direct if you would like any further information, have any suggestions of challenges we can do, would like to sponsor us or join us in any events.
We will keep you updated with our progress of what hopes to be an exciting year of fundraising for two fantastic charities.
Thank you for your support.
November’s challenge tested the brain power of our colleagues, friends and family with a Quiz Night, complete with bingo, a raffle and Play Your Cards Right!
In October we were pushed to our limits with a push up challenge. After training all month in a bid to complete 100 push ups only three of our challengers were able to get anywhere near the target!
September saw a daring group undertake a kayaking challenge with the help of Chester Kayak Hire, travelling up the River Dee from Eccleston to Sandy Lane.
The second challenge of our charity Dodecathlon is a race up Moel Famau. A team of competitive volunteers ran up the mountain in a race to be the fastest to the top.
To kick off our Dodecathlon our first challenge was the Delamere Forest Go Ape tree top rope course. On Tuesday, 2nd July, six members of the team scaled the trees, swung on ropes, crawled through tunnels and scrambled nets in a bid to complete the course, not for the faint hearted!
