July 5th 2013 marks this year’s Action Mesothelioma Day. Staff here at WhatsMyAsbestosClaimWorth along with their friends and family have decided to participate in a 12 month challenge in order to raise awareness and fundraise as much money as possible for our two chosen charities, Mesothelioma UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Sadly, around 2,200 people pass away every year as a result of developing the terminal cancer, mesothelioma. Approximately 2,500 people are also diagnosed with the asbestos related disease every year. We believe that it is important to continue to raise awareness of the risks of exposure to asbestos and the diseases such as mesothelioma which can develop as a result of such exposure. We also would like to continue to support these charities by raising money in order to assist their continuing good work.
WhatsMyAsbestosClaimWorth have therefore decided that our challenge for the year 2013/2014 is to undertake the “12 labours of Hercules”. This means that every month we will be taking part in a different challenge or event in a continuous attempt to raise awareness and fund raise. Our first challenge takes places on 2nd July 2013 with a tree top adventure challenge. We will travel to Delamere Forest where we will tackle high ropes, dark tunnels, rickety bridges and terrifying zip lines! Not for the faint hearted and indeed a challenge and a half for those with a fear of heights!
Over the next 12 months we intend to participate in further challenges which include running a half marathon, take part in a cycle challenge, tackle Europe’s longest zip line and end the year with an end of challenge gig where all proceeds will go to our two chosen charities. We will keep you up to date with our latest challenges and we are open to any suggestions that you may have for us!
